Katie Fisk is a licensed clinical social worker. She has been practicing as a social worker with children, adolescents and families since 2007. Katie received her Bachelor of Social Work and Fine Art in 2007 from McDaniel College. She then practiced as a bachelors level social worker for four years with foster children and families in Baltimore City.
After completing an internship providing therapy to children and families, she completed the one year Advanced Standing Graduate Program at University of Maryland School of Social Work. In 2012, she graduated with a clinical concentration and a specialization in children and families.
In 2012, Katie began working with Jennifer Brown, LCSW-C and Associates. Katie is experienced in both individual and family therapy for clients aged two through adulthood.
She believes in the use of an eclectic approach to therapy in order to individualize treatment for each client. This is accomplished by drawing from the theoretical frameworks of play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, solution focused therapy and psychodynamic theory. Katie has had success in reaching treatment resistant adolescents through the use of creative, experiential strategies. She specializes in depression, anxiety, divorce, trauma, addiction issues, anger management, and behavioral concerns. She has a special interest in providing group therapy to adolescent females.
